Fight for democracy
Tell your MP/Rep you expect better
Everyone of us, (no matter what your political leaning), should be more engaged in politics. We no longer live in a time where our representatives, actually represent the electorate. They’re too busy - lining their pockets and giving obedient nods to the oligarchs. But we can do something. We can remind them that we are here, and tell them why we no longer support them. See the last paragraph of my email below.
Finding contact details for your MP, is very simple. Just go here:

Below is my latest, in a long line of emails sent to my MP. I include it purely to give you some pointers. To help get you started on trying to reinstate democracy.

subject: The Government needs to remove all its presence from X
Hi Rosie,
To be honest, I really don’t understand why the Government is still on X. It’s owner, Elon Musk, has on several occasions:
- formented racist violence in the UK
- suggested the overthrowing of the UK Government
- and on a wider/more general level, promoted fascism, by supporting Nazi groups across the world.
But what? We have to wait for his enabling of child porn, before we realise the guy is a greedy, sick, anti-democratic madman?
The UK Government’s continued use of X as its primary means of Social Media communication, is actually driving traffic to the platform. You are supporting a fascist pornhub. That is wholly unacceptable.
Every public body in the UK, (Central & Local Government, The BBC, et al), should remove themselves from X. And whilst we’re at it: the sale of Tesla vehicles in the UK should be stopped; and we need to extract ourselves from any reliance we have on Starlink/SpaceX.
You probably don’t care what I think. Probably assume I’m anti-Labour. Well, here’s the thing: I voted Labour for over 40 years. For the last two GEs I’ve voted for The Green Party - not for political reasons, but out of concern for the climate/planet. But now... I’m a paid up member of The Green Party, and will do everything I can to help beat Labour, (the party I’ve supported for most of my life), in every upcoming election. You have lost many others like me. So, you should care.
Regards,
Steve Haddon
